Hi, my name is Joe Malone. I am the director of golf at the Wild Marsh Golf Club. We’re located in Buffalo, Minnesota. Wild Marsh was designed by Graham Marsh, who is a former PGA Tour player. We’re talking today about our dream hole, hole number seven. Number seven has been the signature hole out here at Wild Marsh for a long time. To give you an idea of the golf hole, it can play anywhere from 410 yards to 575 yards depending on the type of tee you like to play. It does sit along the shore of Mink Lake. It is a stunning hole visually. The key to this hole is getting your second shot. The high quality player that hits the big drive – he’ll have the chance to go for the green in two. For the rest of us we’ll have to hit a mid-iron to our landing area to have a nice shot into the green. The green sits out in the middle of Mink Lake. It looks like an island green, but it is actually a peninsula. The idea there is that you hit a nice mid-iron to probably about a 120 to 110 yards so that you have a short shot over the marsh onto the green. The winds blow out of the southwest, so the hole can play different every single time you play. It’s never the same twice and people are always happy when they make a play.
