What really happens inside the Yahoo Sports studio?

Hey what’s up everyone, this is one of favorite seasons. From the beautiful weather to the beautiful fall colors, and of course… football!! As you can tell we’re huge football fans, I’m a huge Giants fan as you can tell. What? The only reason I’m here is because Sravya doesn’t know anything about football. I saw her buy that shirt on Amazon like 2 days ago. I’m just here to make sure she doesn’t fumble. I’m super excited today because I’m going to give you guys a sneak peek into Yahoo Sports. Come on, let’s go in. It’s kind of dark over there…I think that’s because of your glasses. Oh… Almost show time. Hey guys, I’m here with Matt Collette, Senior Producer for Yahoo Sports. So Matt, tell me, what do you do? So I oversee our New York studio. We do a football show, a baseball show. This is the main sports studio. We’ll shoot Cover 3 in here, we’ll shoot our baseball show The Bandwagon in here, do like an NFL draft show. NFL draft is not a giant gust of wind in the stadium, just so you know. All this stuff here is like all brand new. The whole video wall, this control room is renovated. Yahoo Sports is kind of at the forefront of figuring out how to give sports fans content in the digital space. That gives us a lot of autonomy, an ability to be kind of a little bit quicker on our feet. This football season we launched a new show called Cover 3. We air at 7:30 right before the Monday night football game. It’s kind of a nice pregame show. Hey guys. Tell us what the show is about. It’s a unique, different look at sports from a woman’s perspective. We cover the hot topics in the league going on Mondays, right after the Sunday football games and then we also try to put our own unique perspectives on each topic. I have to ask, who’s your Super Bowl pick? Ok, so we already know New Orleans. Michelle even has her Drew Brees candle. As technology speeds up, more and more people are using the app for fantasy. Sports betting is a big thing. Basically trying to take the talents and the personalities that we have here and deliver them to the fans that we have in the way that they consume it. Well, we had a great afternoon here at Yahoo Sports. From learning more about football, to meeting the amazing team that runs the channel, it’s been great. Until next time, you’re up to speed!
