BE CHANGES TO THE GOLF CART
ORDINANCE. SOME SAY THE CURRENT RULES
LEAVE TOO MUCH WIGGLE ROOM
FOR PEOPLE TO DRIVE

ITS AN AMUSEMENT PARK RIDE. THEY SAY IT BOILS DOWN TO
STRICTER ENFORCEMENT, AND

RENT … THEY GO OVER A LIST
OF RULES WITH THEM. NO RECKLESS DRIVING,
DRINKING AND DRIVING, NO
UNDER AGE DRIVERS, AND THE
LIST GOES ON. “THEY’RE ALLOWING
CHILDREN TO DRIVE THEM. THEY’RE RUNNING STOP
SIGNS.”
“PEOPLE DRIVING AROUND
WITH AN INFANT ON THEIR LAP. SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS.”
BUT LIVINGSTON AND OTHER
CITY LEADERS SAY THEY OFTEN
SEE PEOPLE NOT FOLLOWING
THE GOLF CART RULES OF THE
ROAD. THE CITY IS CONSIDERING
AMPING UP ENFORCEMENT. RIGHT NOW, THEY’RE TELLING
PEOPLE TO CALL 9- 1-1 IF THEY
SEE SOMEONE DRIVING A CART
RECKLESSLY. ANOTHER BIG
CONSIDERATION: CREATING
AN ANNUAL OR BI-ANNUAL
INSPECTION. THE CITY
CURRENTLY ONLY REQUIRES A
ONE TIME INSPECTION. “WE HAVE ONE INSPECTION AT
THE BEGINNING OF THE
PROCESS… BUT THERE’S NO
REINSPECTION, AND NO
RECERTIFICATION OF THESE ARE STIL
THESE ARE STILL IDEAS IN THE
WORKS. THERE WILL BE A PUBLIC

NEXT MONTH TO DISCUSS THOSE
