Golfing legend Greg Norman has revealed how stepping away the game has helped ‘cleanse’ his body and is part of his ambition to live to the age of 110   After 13 surgeries on his shoulders, knees, back and hip, the 64-year-old Australian icon said he had been on a cocktail of medications and painkillers  But since setting down his clubs and focusing on course design, Norman told Men’s Health magazine he felt as young as ever  ‘I’ve been very open about the fact I want to be the longest-living Norman. And the Normans have some really good genes On my mother’s side, it’s 90s and 100s. My dad is 93 this year. I’d like to hit 108, 100,’ he said   Golfing icon Greg Norman (pictured with wife Kirsten Kutner) likened the ‘pure’ golf shot to the feeling of an orgasm while speaking about his desire to live to be 100 years old The two-time major winner said giving up professional golf allowed his body a chance to ‘rejuvenate’ and started to get him focused on being the ‘longest-living Norman’ He his pictured collapsing to the ground after narrowly missing a chip shot during the final round of the 1996 US Masters Golf Championship at AugustaThough his passion for playing the game is not what is once was, Norman said hitting a ‘pure’ gold shot was ‘as good as having an orgasm’    ‘I’m deadly serious, there’s an absolute rush. Share this article Share In time, he was able to stop taking painkillers  Since stepping away from professional golf Norman has built a reputation as a top tier course designer  He has top rated courses across the world including the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC in San Antonio at Pelican Waters in Queensland   Norman (pictured on the course in Florida earlier this year) said the feel, rotation and the visual of the ‘pure’ golf shot made it ‘such a sensual feeling’ In the wide-ranging interview, Norman said he kept a close relationship with his ex-wife Chrissie Evert ‘I still speak to Chrissie. We go back and forth [with texts] when she’s commentating on tournaments and stuff like that Maybe we were better being friends than being married,’ he said.  The golfing legend tied the knot with Kirsten Kutner in 2010 and the pair remain happily married   His golf design firm, Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD), is widely regarded as one of the best signature golf course design firms in the world  The firm has designed over 100 courses across 64 countries with Norman not looking to slow down any time soon    Norman said his goal of living to be 110 wasn’t far fetched with is mother’s side of the family averaging ages in the 90s and 100s and his father was still kicking at 93-year-old
