The Country Club of Asheville dates back to 1894 and our course has always been a special gem here. Our front 9 is very flat, and our back 9 is extremely hilly and mountainous and it really provides some depth and character to those that not only play the course every day but that come for a tournament or event. During construction, one of the main focuses was staying with the thought process of Donald Ross. We went back and figured what Ross would do today with green speeds and equipment that we can use. We went with a USGA spec green, a sand-based green which will make the greens faster, they’ll be healthier and more playable with changing weather. I’m excited to see, not only Juniors and establish golfers, but also those that may be just now getting reintroduced to the game that are able to go out and really take our course and have some fun with it.
